Suicide is the leading cause of death among men under the age of 50 (ONS, 2022).

This Psychoanalytically informed group addresses issues affecting gay, bisexual and heterosexual men's mental health in sensible and meaningful ways. It also takes into account how experiences some men go through, including those related to upbringing, bullying, discrimination, violence and homophobia, compound the mental health of men, leading to long-term issues about self and relationships.​

Taking care of one's mental health takes discipline and courage to attend sessions regularly and face the difficult and complex emotions, feelings, memories, and experiences necessary for recovery. MENTALk is a space created for men to do just that.
YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS TO YOU AND YOURS
Many men have been taught to associate vulnerability with weakness, which makes it challenging for them to explore different aspects of themselves and develop a deeper understanding of who they are. This, in turn, can lead to a host of issues such as identity crises, fear of intimacy, suppressed frustration and anger, and even severe depression.

From a psychoanalytic stance, the group will delve into a range of topics including self-esteem, shame, relationships, sexuality, adult content consumption, workplace confidence, anger management, social pressure, depression, self-criticism, and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
